Dear Breakthrough Families -

As we wrap up Week 2 of ‘School at Home’, we want to give a major shoutout to all of our scholars, teachers, families and staff who jumped headfirst into remote learning last week with open hearts and smiling faces ready to learn and experience school in a brand new way! Below are some Tech Tips to help make virtual learning successful as well as exciting updates about our Remote Learning Centers.

Remote Learning Centers

We are currently working to finalize spots in our Remote Learning Centers (RLCs), operated at our schools in partnership with Open Doors Academy. 

RLC Program Overview: The program will run on Tuesdays - Fridays from 8am-4pm and provide a safe and supervised small group environment for students to participate in remote learning, with added enrichment for participating scholars. Registration for Remote Learning Center spots must be completed through Open Doors Academy. If you have already completed a registration packet with Open Doors Academy: Letters confirming spaces will be coming out starting today.  Please watch your email for a communication from Vickie Person at rlc@odacle.org.

If you have not yet completed the interest form but would like to learn more or be considered for a spot at a Remote Learning Center: Please visit http://bit.ly/bps-rlcs. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you have already completed the initial interest form but have not yet received a registration packet from ODA: Please check for an email from “Mike Poggi via DocuSign".  The subject of the email is "Open Doors Academy RLC DocuSign Packet".  If you did not receive an email or need ODA to resend the packet, please email to rlc@odacle.org. 

Remote Learning Centers will be opening on Tuesday, September 29th. Families who have students attending an RLC will receive additional communications in the coming days as we continue to prepare to welcome a small number of students back to our buildings!

Tech Tips

We want to thank you again for your flexibility and patience as we navigate through these first few weeks, especially with technology. As a reminder, here are some helpful tips to ensure you have easy access to your child’s classroom. For visual examples, click here. 

Devices: The easiest way to “go to school” is by using your school-supplied Chromebook. You can log in using your scholar’s Google login. If for some reason you need/want to use your own device, that’s fine, too. The call center can help you navigate just a few extra steps if you use your own device. Issues? Visit our Home Tech Page.

Schoology: Once you are logged into the chromebook, go to bt.schoology.com and log in using your same Google login. You’ll then be IN the classroom! Need help with your Google login? You can call your school’s front desk or visit our Home Tech page.

Student Schedule: Once you’re logged in bt.schoology.com, all student schedules are now being posted in the Homeroom Folder!  Don’t see yours?  Call your school’s front desk.
