Who We Are

Welcome to Breakthrough Public Schools!

Our network of K-8 free, public charter schools includes five campuses throughout Cleveland. In our classrooms, you’ll find an immersive curriculum being taught with active, joyful learning to give scholars the foundation and tools they need to discover and create the future of their dreams.

Everyone learns here!

Our scholars receive personalized, individual instruction, tailored to their needs and learning style. Each kindergarten through 2nd-grade classroom has two teachers to make learning individualized and joyful.

We’ve also expanded our Exceptional Student Education Program, to include support for multilingual learners, learners with IEPs, and more.

Foundational Skills for a Choice-Filled Life

Our goal is to help scholars live a choice-filled life, and from day 1 your child will develop skills that they'll use for the rest of their life through a robust and literacy-focused curriculum. Our culture extends far beyond the classroom, and our teachers, staff, families, and scholars come together as pillars of our community - a place where everyone feels welcome and uplifted.

Who Should Enroll Early?

Early enrollment is open to all scholars attending any Breakthrough Public School for the first time, including siblings of currently-enrolled scholars.

Why Enroll Early?

Each year, we have a limited number of seats available, and enrolling early gives you the chance to:

  • Skip the waitlist
  • Secure a place for your K-8 child/ren at the same campus
  • Spend more time getting to know your teachers and our school community.

It’s a great time to be a part of the Breakthrough family! Here's why:

  • Your whole family can attend the same campus!

Each campus is K-8, so your entire family can grow and thrive at the same school from kindergarten to 8th-grade graduation!

  • Caring & dedicated staff

These folks are here to inspire a love of learning and get to know your child by providing the individualized support they need. This includes two licensed teachers in each kindergarten through 2nd-grade classrooms.

  • We're committed to literacy!

We give every scholar the literacy and reading skills they need to achieve in school and beyond. Instilling a love of reading improves writing and speaking skills, vocabulary, and self-confidence. All teachers are trained and focused on literacy.

  • Two-way communication

Open lines of communication with BPS families create a support system to help your child thrive in school. We share all kinds of updates; what we’re learning, progress updates, reminders, events, and more—you’ll always be in the loop and informed.

  • The safety and well-being of every scholar is our number one priority

We take the safety and well-being of every scholar very seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. You can rest assured that your child will be safe at Breakthrough.
