Ready to join our schools?

As we grow, open new schools, and add new grades, we are looking for educators who are excited about what we are doing in Cleveland. We are currently looking for two teachers to join our team of nationally recognized educators.

The following positions are currently available:

Intervention Specialist, Citizens Leadership Academy, Grades 6-8
Full-time position, inclusion model, 6th grade math & literacy focus

Intervention Specialist, E Prep Woodland Hills, Grades 5-8
Full-time position, inclusion model, 8th grade math & literacy focus

I became a teacher for the purpose of serving students who are often wrongly passed over and educationally neglected. Much of my urban education philosophy stems from Geoffrey Canada’s work in Harlem. I hoped to find a school that strived to close the achievement gap and invest intentionally in Cleveland’s under-served youth by preparing for them for a successful future and caring for their physical and emotional needs, but I planned to pursue my dream regardless of whether I found a like-minded school.

Over my years of research into Cleveland’s public, charter, and private schools, I was thrilled to find schools like those at Breakthrough, which seemed to have articulated my passion perfectly and are successfully bringing it to life. I whole heartedly and irrevocably believe that every child deserves an individualized education that meets their unique needs, as well as the support of educators and administrators or truly care about their growth and well-being.

 

Why Teach Here?

In the last few years, our schools have won the National Blue Ribbon Award presented by the US Department of Education, won the Eisner Prize for Intergenerational Excellence, and have been ranked in the top 1% of the state for student progress and growth. We have grown from 3 schools to 10 schools over the last four years, and have plans to open 10 more schools in partnership with the local school district by 2020.
