K - 2nd Grade

Becoming Vanessa

Becoming Vanessa

by Vanessa Brantley-Newton

This story will help kids just starting school transform from timid caterpillars into beautiful butterflies so they can love who they are. On Vanessa's first day of school, her parents tell her it will be easy to make friends. Vanessa isn't so sure. She wears her fanciest outfit so her new classmates will notice her right away. They notice, but the attention isn't what she'd hoped for.

3rd - 5th Grade

The Wild Robot

The Wild Robot

by Peter Brown

Can a robot survive in the wilderness? When robot Roz opens her eyes for the first time, she discovers that she is all alone on a remote, wild island.

6th - 8th Grade

Barakah Beats

Barakah Beats

by Maleeha Siddiqui

It's about a young girl named Nimra who ends up switching from a religious school to a public school, where she gets involved in a school band (Barakah Beats). It's middle grade but deals with a lot of grown-up issues, like changing friendships, staying true to yourself, finding your passions.

Get Involved

If you are interested in getting involved at your school specifically, or with me at the citywide level, let me know. We always welcome parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents interested in volunteering and getting involved in several ways.

Email me here or call me at 216-367-5720 and ask for Kareemah. I look forward to hearing from you!

3 Reasons to Choose Kindergarten at Breakthrough!

Hear from Chief Academic Officer, Andrew McRae, as he shares more about our kindergarten program, what makes it unique, and why parents choose kindergarten at Breakthrough.

  1. We're committed to early literacy. Our curriculum ensures that from day 1, young scholars will develop reading skills that they’ll use for the rest of their life.
  2. Your child will discover something new every day through hands-on, joyful learning experiences and interactive specials.
  3. We are wholeheartedly committed to your child's success in life! We'll warmly welcome you and your child on that first day of kindergarten, and be there for their college graduation, offering support and encouragement every step of the way. When you join Breakthrough, you join a family, you join a tradition, you join an entire community dedicated to the success of your scholar.
