Dear CLAE Families,
Last school year was truly unprecedented and as a community we were able to partner together to get through it. Thank you for your collaboration and flexibility. We continue to be excited to welcome you back to in-person learning and in doing so have prioritized scholar health and safety, strong school culture, psychologically safe classrooms, and scholar learning.
As we wrap up our second week, we have observed a large percentage of scholars struggling to meet the basic health, safety, and behavioral expectations of our school, including but not limited to: masking protocols; hallway behavior; classroom procedures; and speaking, responding, and reacting appropriately. As such, it has become increasingly difficult to ensure high quality instruction is taking place in every classroom every day.
It is our belief that the best plan of action in this situation is to directly address what is happening by engaging in a full school reset beginning the week of September 13th. This will include a re-orientation for all CLAE scholars and staff to schoolwide expectations, systems, routines, incentives and consequences that ensure a positive, productive, and safe learning environment where rigorous instruction can take place. You can find the schedule and additional details below.
It is critical that we work together as a community to ensure that CLAE continues to be a safe, productive, and thriving environment for all of our scholars and staff alike. We will be holding two town hall meetings in order to hear your voice, and answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
