Yellow Bus Applications
If your child resides in the city of Cleveland AND if they live more than 1 mile from their enrolled school you can click below to apply for yellow bussing for school year 2026-2027.
*If you reside in a city other than Cleveland, please contact the transportation department of the district in which you reside for payment in lieu options. Your child(ren) is/are not eligible for yellow bussing. Please do not fill out a Yellow Bus Application.
Application Statuses
All applications will be reviewed by the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Applications will either be:
- Approved for ridership, in which you will receive a route through Community Bus Services according to the timeline below.
- Denied and you will be eligible for Payment in Lieu of transportation. Applications will be denied if your residence is located too far from your child’s enrolled school and there is no route that runs near your address.
If your yellow bus application was denied, you must fill out the form and submit it to the school front office in which your child is enrolled by end of day May 14, 2027. You will also need to submit a copy of an updated proof of residence and photo ID. Accepted forms are on page 2 of the payment in lieu form.

Community Bus Services Dispatch
Families should call 440-278-4622 ext. 1401 to check on the status of their child(rens)’ bus.
Daily Ridership
Your child(ren) will be put on their assigned bus each afternoon beginning the first day of ridership. If you do not wish for them to ride on a specific day, you must call the school’s front office no later than 2:30 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays or 12:30 PM on Wednesdays.
Yellow Bus Removal
Please call the front office of the school in which your child is enrolled if you would like your child(ren) to be removed from the bus.
Bus Stop Change Requests
If your child(ren) are routed to a yellow school bus and you have safety concerns about the provided stop, you can fill out the Yellow Bus Stop Change Request Form to see if your child(rens)’ stop can be changed. CBS will review the request and contact you with a final decision within five business days.
Note: This form is NOT for a change of address. If you have a change of address, fill out a new application and select “C” to indicate an address change.
Family Concerns Reporting Form
