Ready Set Go 2019: Summer Week 2

Hello families!

It was great to hear from many of you last week with so many great questions.  One parent titled her message to me, Starting the year off right and that is exactly what I want to help you do.  You can help me by continuing to contact me with your questions.  Here are some of the questions I received:

What is the first day of school?

The official first day of school is Monday, August 12th.  The start dates for new scholars and Kindergarten scholars will be staggered for the first few days.  Please check your Welcome Packet and school mailers for the specific start date for your scholar.

Is there a school uniform?

Yes, all of our scholars wear a polo-style shirt with the school logo or emblem on it.  The color of the shirt varies depending on school and grade level.

Village Prep: Blue Polos
E Prep: Green Polos
Citizens: Yellow Polos
Citizens Leadership: Purple Polos

Also, all 8th graders across our network wear Black Polos with the school logo on them.

When will the school send Welcome Packets?

Welcome Packets have started to be mailed to the homes of new scholars and should arrive over the next two weeks.  If for some reason you do not receive your Welcome Packet please contact me or the school front office.

Is there transportation?

Yes, we are partnering with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) and Community Bus Services (CBS) to provide transportation options for eligible students for the 2019-2020 school year.  Transportation forms can be obtained from the school front office staff Monday – Thursday between 8:30am and 2:30pm.  The first deadline to submit forms is Friday, June 28th.  A reminder email regarding transportation will be sent on Monday, June 17th.  Please read there for more details.
