Family Partnership

Breakthrough Public Schools values our families and communities as essential partners in helping our scholars thrive. We are committed to building strong, meaningful relationships with families, working together to ensure every scholar reaches their full potential.

We aim to create a trusted and collaborative bond between families and our schools. By working hand-in-hand, we strengthen the support network for our scholars' academic success. We believe that sharing decision-making and fostering open collaboration with families leads to incredible results for our scholars. Together, we can achieve great things!

Teresa Brown-Sales

Director of Family Partnership

With over 20 years of experience in urban education, Teresa has worn many hats: middle school teacher, turnaround principal, Director of Instruction, and now Director of Family Partnerships at Breakthrough Public Schools. She holds a Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Organizational Leadership and has worked across private, charter, and public school systems.
In her role at Breakthrough, Teresa is thrilled to collaborate with Cleveland families, empowering parents as partners in their children’s education. She leads initiatives that strengthen family engagement, promote culturally responsive practices, and support academic success through programs like restorative justice and family outreach.
Outside of work, Teresa cherishes time with her three adult children and five wonderful grandchildren, who bring endless joy to her life.
