Weekly Family Update 4/3/18

Greetings CLA-EAST Families!

I hope you and your family enjoyed your time over spring break. Although we had the week off, our staff was hard at work. We finalized plans for the month of April and parts of May as this is the “testing season”. The theme for this year’s test season is “The Will To Do Well”. We understand that not all students, or people in general, truly enjoy taking exams so we will focus on the mindset of your scholar. By focusing on mental toughness along with curriculum review, we are confident we will do well as a school on the Ohio State Test and our end of the year SLO’s. Each Monday morning, during testing weeks (see dates below), we will have a special community meeting to prepare our minds and bodies for the upcoming assessment. We are inviting each of you to come and join the action every Monday morning beginning on April 16th at 8:00 am as we set the tone for the week.

If you have any questions, thoughts or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I hope to see you at one of our Monday morning or traditional Friday morning community meetings.

Yours in Education,

Ricardo Franklin, Sr.

Founding Principal

School Culture Updates

In crew, this week scholars will continue their discussion surrounding courage. This week the focus will be on identifying the courage in others and using to motivate ourselves to do great things. The habit of leadership learning target for the week is; “I will hold myself and my peers accountable for living the values of CLAE”. I invite all of our parents to join in on the discussions this week and every week during crew. Crew times are 7:45 am to 8:15 am daily.
