Black History Month

2015 CLA Black History Month Preview

28 Days of “OHIO” Black History

This year, during the month of February, the students and staff of CLA will take a look at the history and legacy of famous African Americans from Ohio. Each day during the lunch block, images of a famous African American will be displayed for all scholars to view, and one scholar in each grade will be chosen to read the biography of the highlighted person. In addition, students and teachers may read about other Ohio African Americans during morning crew.  At the end of each week, scholars will be quizzed during crew and/or community meeting about the African Americans featured during that week.  Crew and individual competitions will test scholar learning about these highly acclaimed individuals.
