Weekly Family Update 4/16/18

Greetings CLA-EAST Families!

We are now in mid-April and the testing season has officially begun. In our first week of testing, our scholars really did have the will to do well. 70% of our scholars either met or exceeded their Reading NWEA spring goal. What a great start to testing. This week is the big Ohio State Test (OST) for ELA. Testing days this week are Tuesday and Wednesday. I’d like to remind everyone ways that you can get involved and support our school during testing. Please make sure scholars are at school by 7:15 am Tuesday and Wednesday as we have special breakfast ordered for testing days. We hope that you can join us in our high-five tunnel immediately following breakfast both days. We look forward to seeing you this week.

CLA Summer Enrichment Camp scholarship applications are now available. Scholars wishing to participate in one of four summer camp opportunities should return a complete the application including essay, to their crew leader by Thursday, April 19th.  applications will be passed out Monday and will be available in the main office.

Yours in Education,

We also have a special request for parent volunteers throughout the testing season. Moms and Dads we would like for you to bring special treats to the school on Tuesday and Wednesday morning this week. Things such as oatmeal grain bars, granola bars, blueberries and bananas, muffins, and fruit juice are healthy brain food snacks our scholars can eat before, during or after testing. Dads, there is a special request just for you. We want our dads to come in and be the protectors of the testing environment. We need Dad’s on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 am – 10:00 am.
