Greetings Families and Caregivers!
We are thrilled to share with you the April edition of our FPO Newsletter. The Family Partnership office is committed to elevating the social and emotional needs of our scholars and families. Our April Go Live edition seeks to provide families with information regarding childhood trauma and its impact on the brain.
We have invited Dr. Mike Forbes, MD FAAP, a pediatrician at the Akron Children’s Hospital, who specializes in the field of Adverse Childhood experiences and has done lots of research on the correlations between childhood trauma and domestic violence.
Join us to learn more about Adverse Childhood Experiences and Summer IT work internship opportunities for Breakthrough families.

Caregiver Focus Group
BPS has partnered with Grovider, a technology-enabled knowledge management consulting firm, to conduct a listening tour across the BPS community in the hopes that, through deep listening, we will:
- center the schools’ diverse voices
- align on shared community values;
- gain a greater understanding of the characteristics that make up key figures in our community (scholars and team members); and reimagine our commitment towards our mission, vision, and values.
The sessions will be a dedicated space for families of BPS scholars to share their unique perspectives with Grovider. At your convenience, please sign up for a 60-minute focus group session, which will be hosted virtually between Monday, April 17, 2023, and Friday, April 21, 2023, at the button below.
