Student Led Conference Scheduling Letter

Dear Families of CLA,
It is hard to believe the end of the second trimester is upon us. Second trimester report cards will be mailed next Friday, February 20th. I want to review an exciting and important practice we are continuing this year: Student-Led Conferences. During this conference your child will take the lead and will reflect on his or her progress, show you his or her work, and receive feedback from his or her teachers. Your scholar, his teachers, and you will reflect together about goals and next steps for your child’s achievement at the conclusion of the conference.
We feel that student-led conferences are a very important way to engage students in understanding and taking ownership of their learning. We also believe this conference structure will help us to build better communication and strong relationships with families. Of course, anyone who feels they need a private meeting with a teacher will still be able to schedule one.
As parents and family members, you are critical partners in helping support your child’s learning and growth. Student led conferences are one of many ways to show this support; conferences will take place on Thursday, February 26 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, February 27 from 7:00 – 9:30 a.m. Please respond to this letter by calling Ms. Pratt at the main office to schedule your conference by Thursday, February 19th. We are counting on 100% participation for student-led conferences.
