New Schools Initiative

Breakthrough Schools is working with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to increase the number of high-quality schools for Cleveland’s children. As Breakthrough continues with its expansion plan, a critical first step is identifying appropriate facilities for the schools to call home. It’s vital that these schools are located in neighborhoods that provide easy access for our economically disadvantaged students and their families. So far, we have renovated four closed and boarded-up buildings into state-of-the-art facilities for our students.

  BEFORE       and…  AFTER!

These facilities now house five of our schools dedicated to preparing inner city youths for college and beyond. Our new school development and expansion plan is revitalizing communities and bringing hope to residents. And we are still expanding. By 2020, we plan to open 11 new schools to bring our network to 20 schools serving over 7,000 students. But we need your help! To support our mission to give every child in Cleveland access to a free, high-quality education, please contact John Zitzner to learn more about our long-term goals. Please contact John Zitzner, President, to learn more about how you and your company or foundation can support our long-term capital campaign.
