About Our High School
U.S. News and World Report ranked Cleveland Early College among the top 25 High Schools in the state and number one in C.M.S.D. CECHS has earned high rankings and awards from Niche.com and the Ohio Department of Education. At Cleveland Early College High School, students learn in a high-achieving, rigorous college preparatory environment. Students are immersed in relevant and meaningful interdisciplinary learning experiences that foster 21st-century skills that are sought after by businesses and universities alike. The curriculum at CECHS is enriched by a multitude of learning opportunities. Students may participate in post-secondary coursework concurrently with their high school classes through College Credit plus and High-Tech Academy. CECHS has earned an Excellent rating on the state report card and been named a School of Promise for 13 consecutive years. CECHS was named a Needle in a Haystack School by the Thomas B. Fordham Institute and have finished in the top three high schools in the state on the Ohio Graduation Test in 2012. In 2012, CECHS earned the highest Performance Index Score in the state on the Ohio Graduation Test. New clubs include singing, film slam, yoga, arts and crafts, game club, newspaper, academic challenge, current events, public speaking, driving, and fashion. The campus offers a 6- week STNA program, computer science program, health professional alliance club, college exploration, financial literacy, creative writing, Shakespeare, peer mediation and anti-bullying, a serenity/study room, student advisory panel, preparation for the mathematics OST, highest A.P. Language and Composition passage rate in the district and a variety of sports.
