Hello 8th Grade!
My name is Ms. Stephens and I am your high school placement coordinator. It has been a pleasure getting to know you all and I am excited to help you navigate through this next step of the journey. I look forward to working with you and your families to explore all the options that best fit your next phase in education. During this fair, you will be introduced to schools that focus on the arts, sciences, and everything in between! There are schools that prepare you for work and schools that prepare you for college. This year will move fast but we will get to the finish line together! By Christmas Break most of you will have chosen at least 2-3 schools to apply to.
I have been with Citizens Leadership schools for about 2 years now, and love the work we do with the youth of Cleveland! It’s all about you! I am dedicated to our Citizen Leadership families as my family. I was raised in a home with a passion for education. Both of my parents are retired CMSD teachers and my sister currently works with Breakthrough as a teacher. My background is in higher education. I worked as a recruiter for a college near Cleveland that specifically recruited students from Cleveland area high schools. I plan to use this vast understanding of local high schools’ ability to prepare students for college and beyond, to allow me to best support you in your next step decision.
In my spare time I like to spend time with friends and family and have watched almost everything on Netflix! I love having conversations about all of their random shows and would love to hear your opinions on them as well. I also love nature and audiobooks.
It is my goal to help you reach the next level in your educational journey and encourage you to become the leaders you are meant to be. I cannot wait to work with each of you throughout the year!
